Should tobacco companies be held responsible for smoking-related illnesses and deaths?

Many people would like to blame smoking companies for smoking related illnesses and deaths or even try to sue them. I do not agree with that, people who choose to smoke should also make the decision to accept the consequences that comes with smoking or at least educate themselves on the health risks that may occur. I could see where tobacco companies could be at blame if they tried to keep it a secret that smoking is unhealthy for you, but they don't. When you buy a pack of ciggarette's there is a label right on the side of them called the surgeon general's warning, explaining that quitting smoking reduces health risks. People just need to take responsibility for their own choices and not blame others when something goes wrong.

Blog 1 "The Man with the Golden Voice"

In thi story Ted Williams is blessed with a wonderful opportunity to with a second chance at life and beng reunited after ten years with out seeing his mother. I found this story very touching and inspiring! Many people dont get this opportunity just handed to them to become a famous speaker or presenter for commercials or shows. This just proves that every one is granted with a gift, you just have to find it in your self. And that there really is a higher power out there who tries to guide to you good places and tries to help, its your choice to except the help or not. Ted is very blessed and I hope he takes advantage of this opportunity and gets his life on the right track.

Should controversial speakers (on whatever subject) be allowed on college campuses?

I believe controversial speakers should be allowed on college campuses because, it gives out more information on others beliefs and subjects through out society. They should only be able to do so if they present it in a respectful manner and dont over push people to believe what they do or judge people who don't agree. I think its a good way to educate people on both sides of the story and why people think or believe what they do. Also the age group on college people, I think is the perfect group to discuss controversial topics with because this is when people mature more and find their self and their own opinons on what they think and believe in. As long as the speaker is okay with people disagree and isn't judgmental on other people thinking differently I don't see it as a problem.

Should homosexual's be permitted to serve in the armed forces?

My belief to this question is a 100% yes! I have a hard time understanding why gays would not be aloud to make this decision for themselves. What harm does it do to any one else? They are willing to stand up and fight for their county, that should have people showing great respect towards them, as they do for all the other straight people involved in armed forces. I believe this is just banned due to the ignorant and closed minded people of our society these days. You don't see them banning people of a different race, backgrounds, gender, or those whose speak different languages, so what makes this any different. In the extreme cases of this situation for the homosexuals who really want to be in the military to pretend they are something they aren't, by following the "don't ask don't tell" meathod
